In our first interview we chat with a member of the State Board of Education and discuss the new requirements for teaching online. We also talk with a group of students who participated in a Video Conferencing Bookclub.

Episode 12 - Student Technology Showcase
Each fall, there is a K-12 student technology showcase held at the state capital building in Lansing, Michigan. The event is sponsored by the Michigan Association of Computer Users (MACUL) and AT&T. This event is held to allow state legislatures to talk to and view student work in the area of technology use in the classroom. Episode 12 is an introduction to the event and a school interview. WIT will continue to feature student interviews from the Showcase on future episodes.

Angela George, an elementary school technology consultant at Fraser Schools in Fraser, Michigan has created a PageFlake for the teachers and computer lab assistants. The purpose of the page is to keep everyone up to date and on the same path in the use of technology in the schools. It also provides a place for teachers to post items from their schools.

Gisella Licari, a professor of Modern Languages at GVSU, is our guest and discusses the creation of orginal Italian Fairytales by her language students. The illustrations of the Fairytales were created by fifth grade students. The Italian language students at GVSU used iMovie to create the stories.
